A recent study out of the University of Queensland found that when you quickly glance at two faces side by side, they appear ugly—almost monster-like—even though they're perfectly normal looking. It's called the Flashed Face Distortion Effect—and you've got to watch the video to believe it. Look towards the middle of the screen and hit pause to see what the women really look like.
